Here’s what will happen when you contact me:
1. I’ll respond to your message and ask some questions about you and your book.
2. We’ll schedule a discovery call and discuss your book, what I can do for you, answer your questions, and other details.
3. If you’d like to proceed, you’ll send your manuscript to me (I can sign a nondisclosure statement if you wish) for a sample copyediting or proofreading and cost and timeline estimates.
4. If you choose to hire me, I’ll send a service agreement so you can read and sign it—I’ll sign it too.
5. I’ll ask you for a 50 percent deposit before I start.
6. I’ll copyedit or proofread your manuscript (two passes for each service).
7. I’ll return the manuscript with recommendations for your review and comments.
8. You return the manuscript to me so I can make final adjustments that incorporate your changes (I can make additional passes for an additional charge).
9. I’ll send an invoice for the remaining balance before I return the completed manuscript to you.
